Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Sunday as the Traralgon Redsox outscored Morwell Cougars 21-9 in five innings.

The teams combined for 32 hits, including eight extra base hits.

The Traralgon Redsox starter Owen Godenzi struggled, allowing seven in 3 2/3 innings, but the bullpen gave up two runs and the offense banged out 23 to pick up the slack and secure the win for the Traralgon Redsox .

The game was back-and-forth heading into the fourth, with five lead changes.

The Traralgon Redsox pulled out the win thanks to a strong fourth inning. The Traralgon Redsox scored on an RBI single by Judd Neilson offChristopher Heppleston, bringing home Josh Graham.

 

The Traralgon Redsox easily handled Morwell Cougars pitching as seven hitters combined for 21 hits, 20 RBIs and 20 runs scored.

After posting four runs in the second, the Traralgon Redsox again scored four in the fourth. In the second, the Traralgon Redsox scored on a two-run single by Wayne Beames, plating Josh Graham and Nielson.

The lead was the Traralgon Redsox 's to lose after fourth inning. More runs came home on an RBI double by Josh Graham and a two-run single by Beames.

It didn't take long for the Traralgon Redsox to respond as they scored 10 runs of their own in the fifth. The Traralgon Redsox scored on a three-run triple by Godenzi, an RBI single by Beames, an RBI single by Duncan McAlister, an RBI single by Brian Spiteri, a walk by Josh Graham, an RBI single by Nielson, and a two-run double by Godenzi.

The Traralgon Redsox jumped out to an early lead on Morwell Cougars and captured a 21-2 victory on Sunday at K.L.P.

Eighteen runs in the first three innings allowed the Traralgon Redsox to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Rob Mowat, an error, an RBI single by Daniel Levick, and an RBI single by Peter Townsend during the first inning and a walk by Brian Dillon, a two-run single by Daniel Levick, a two-run double by Townsend, an error, and an RBI single by Mowat in the second inning helped the Traralgon Redsox put some runs on the board early.

 

Daniel Levick racked up five RBIs on three hits for the Traralgon Redsox .

 

Morwell Cougars was hurt by a number of miscues in the field. Morwell Cougars committed eight errors which led to two unearned runs for the Traralgon Redsox .

The Traralgon Redsox easily handled Morwell Cougars pitching as six hitters combined for 15 hits, 15 RBIs and 15 runs scored.

Jason Dwyer lasted 1 2/3 innings on the rubber for Morwell Cougars before the call to the bullpen. Dwyer gave up 12 hits and 18 runs.
