The Traralgon Redsox beat the Churchill Braves 8-3 on Sunday at Andrews Park behind Jordan Gilmore, who went 2-5.
He singled in the fifth inning and tripled in the seventh inning.
The Churchill Braves couldn't get anything going as long as Caleb Poole was on the rubber. Poole held the Churchill Braves hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.
The Traralgon Redsox didn't relinquish the lead after scoring two runs in the first inning when they scored on an error and a sacrifice fly by Poole.
One the Churchill Braves run crossed the plate in the bottom half of the second, making the score 2-1. An RBI single by Andrew Curry set off the Churchill Braves rally. The Churchill Braves (A) threat came to an end whenBlake Townsend finally got Bryce Haley to strike out.
The Traralgon Redsox piled on three more runs in the top of the fifth. A sacrifice fly scored Brian Spiteri for the inning's first run. That was followed up by Jordan Gilmore's single, plating Jay Ziersch.
Two runs in the bottom of the sixth helped the Churchill Braves close their deficit to 5-3. An error and an RBI double by Gregg Duncan fueled the Churchill Braves 's comeback. Finally, Brad Adams got Curry to strike out to end the threat.
The Traralgon Redsox built upon their lead with two runs in the eighth. A clutch scored Jordan Spiteri to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Spiteri's single, bringing home Tom Rynberk.

An error during the first inning and an RBI single by Brad Pratt, a two-run single by Davis Long, an RBI single by Wayne Beames, a two-run single byWill Brooker, and a two-run single by Jason Beames in the second inning fueled the Traralgon Redsox 's offense early.

Mitch John led the Churchill Braves 's offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI.
The Traralgon Redsox easily handled the Churchill Braves pitching as seven hitters combined for 16 hits, 12 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
