2015 LVBA SEASON - GAME 6  : 24/5/2015

In A Grade, The Traralgon Redsox jumped out to an early lead on the Sale Rangers and captured a 9-3 victory on Saturday at Traralgon. The game was decided quickly as the Traralgon Redsox exerted their will early with five runs in the first three innings. A sacrifice fly by Jordan Gilmore during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Traralgon Redsox .

Jordan Gilmore racked up five RBIs on two hits for the Traralgon Redsox .

Luke Hornstra handled the Sale Rangers 's lineup with ease, racking up four strikeouts. Hornstra allowed no earned runs on four hits and no walks over five innings.

The Traralgon Redsox piled on four more runs in the bottom of the third. Hornstra kicked things off with a single, scoring Ben Shepherd.

The Traralgon Redsox survived the Sale Rangers 's surge and put up two runs of their own in the fourth. The Traralgon Redsox scored on an error and an RBI single by Jordan Gilmore.

 

In B Grade, The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to eight lead changes in the game.

The top of the first saw the Sale Rangers (B) take an early lead, 1-0. Brad Taylor singled to ignite the Sale Ranger's offense.

The Traralgon Redsox (B) survived the Sale Rangers 's surge and put up one run of their own in the first. The Traralgon Redsox scored on an RBI single by Dan Smith.

The Traralgon Redsox quickly matched the Sale Rangers 's strong inning with a three-run inning of their own in the sixth. The Traralgon Redsox scored on a groundout by Mark Seeber, an RBI single by Jordy Gilmore, and an RBI single by Sam Keast.

 

In the U16, Blake Townsend did his best to change the outcome, but Townsend couldn't will the Traralgon Redsox past Sale as the Traralgon Redsox lost 8-4 in four innings at Traralgon on Sunday.

Townsend shut down Sale while he was on the hill. Sale managed just one hit off of the the Traralgon Redsox 's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his one inning of work.

The lead stayed with Sale after the first, when it scored four runs on an RBI single by Jack Neeshem.

After pushing across three runs in the bottom of the second, the Traralgon Redsox faced just a 5-4 deficit. An RBI single by Daniel Levick and a two-run single by Tash Jenkins triggered the Traralgon Redsox 's comeback. Josh Galea flew out to end the Traralgon Redsox (U16) threat.

 

The U13's looked to be out of time at the top of the 5th, but some sharp pitching from Mitchell Kirby and good backup in the field quickly restricted Sale to only 1 run.   The new Sale pitcher then loaded the bases with a number of walks and James Lynch backed up his good work from the pitchers mound by clearing the in field and help get the 5 runs for an exciting 10 all tie
