The Traralgon Redsox got their season underway with two great wins over the Sale Rangers at KLP. With the Rangers forfeiting the C Grade contest the Redsox made them pay in the A's and B's.

The Traralgon Redsox beat the Sale Rangers 20-2 Sunday behind both the bat and the arm of Luke Hornstra. Luke racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Traralgon Redsox . He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the third and fifth innings. The Sale Rangers managed just one hit off of the Traralgon Redsox 's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his three innings of work. Eight runs in the opening three innings allowed the Traralgon Redsox to easily put away the Sale Rangers . Ranger starting picher James Jackson walked a run across the plate before, Brian Spiteri whacked a two-run single then Tom Rynberk picked up a sacrifice fly in the first inning. Josh Graham and Tom drew walks during the second inning which helped the Traralgon Redsox put some runs on the board early. Jackson was hot from the plate for the Sale Rangers going 1-1, he drove in one and scored one run. The Traralgon Redsox had Jackson removed from the mound in the first, he was replaced by Will Hector, Kieren Donoghue and Brad Taylor. The Redsox hammered the Sale Rangers pitching as seven hitters had a field day, combining for 17 hits, 17 RBIs and 14 runs scored.

The Traralgon Redsox outlasted the Sale Rangers on Sunday after seven lead changes, squeaking out a 8-5 win at KLP. The Traralgon Redsox took the lead in the sixth inning and held on for the victory. A wild pitch scored Brad Pratt to give the Traralgon Redsox the lead for good. Duncan McAlister led the Traralgon Redsox 's offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He doubled in the fourth inning. It was a good day at the plate for the Sale Rangers 's Lachlan Wrigglesworth. Lachlan went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first and fifth innings. The bottom of the first saw the Traralgon Redsox take an early lead, 1-0. Brad kicked things off for the Traralgon Redsox with a single. Jordan Spiteri singled, plating Duncan. The lead was the Traralgon Redsox 's to lose after sixth inning. More runs came home on a two-run double by John Kus. A one-run seventh inning helped bring the Sale Rangers within three as an RBI single by Andrew Johnston gave the Sale Rangers life. Brad ended the game by getting Tony Taylor to strike out.
